The journey through menopause and midlife is transformative but challenging for women, often leaving them feeling adrift, anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed. Peri-menopause marks the beginning of the end of a woman’s reproductive cycle. The symptoms of peri-menopause can begin in the late 30’s and early 40’s. Many women go through peri-menopause with no significant issues or symptoms, others may find they struggle with numerous symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, palpitations, irritability, low mood/depression, fatigue, weight changes, anxiety, brain fog, and loss of libido.

This can impact their self-confidence, diminish their self-esteem, and create a sense of losing control over their minds and bodies. Weight changes and joint and muscle pain issues can exacerbate these emotional responses. 

 

The twin sisters Midlife and Menopause can often bring periods of deep reflection, introspection, and dissatisfaction with career, and relationships; bringing with it a sense of loss for how we would have wanted our lives to look like and triggering existential crisis. In simple terms, it can leave us feeling like we have lost our mojo and suddenly feel so very alone. Midlife, is however, an opportunity to embrace a new chapter and rediscover purpose and meaning.
